Troubleshooting
Franke coffee systems are built for durability and consistent performance, but like any professional equipment, they rely on routine servicing to stay in top condition. To make this easy, the E600 includes an automatic “Maintenance Required” alert, prompting you when it’s time for scheduled preventative servicing (PM1, PM2, or PM3).

What Triggers the Maintenance Alert?
The E600 alert isn’t just a suggestion—it’s a built-in protection feature designed to keep your machine running reliably. It activates based on one of two factors: either the number of drinks produced or the elapsed time since the last service, whichever comes first.
These intervals are defined by the manufacturer to ensure the machine is serviced at the right time. Following them helps maintain performance, minimise the risk of faults, and extend the life of your equipment.
Delaying service after this alert appears can lead to bigger issues, including worn components, hygiene concerns, and unexpected breakdowns. Staying on top of preventative maintenance helps avoid costly repairs and downtime.

What’s Included in a Scheduled Service?
When the alert appears, it’s time to arrange a service with a qualified technician, such as the Coffeetec team.
A preventative maintenance visit involves a comprehensive inspection and service of the coffee machine (and fridge, if applicable). Key tasks typically include:
Safety Checks
Technicians carry out a full inspection to ensure all electrical and mechanical components are operating safely. This includes checking seals, wiring, and fittings for any signs of damage or deterioration.
Leak & Wear Assessment
Early detection of leaks or worn parts is essential. Identifying these issues before they escalate can prevent major failures and reduce repair costs.
Cleaning & Hygiene Maintenance
Daily use leads to residue build-up from coffee, milk, and water. A deep clean, along with replacing hygiene-critical components, ensures both safety and consistently high beverage quality.
Replacement of Critical Components
Certain parts are replaced as part of scheduled maintenance, regardless of their condition. These include items related to safety, hygiene, and general wear. Over time, these components naturally degrade and can affect performance or safety if not addressed.
Before replacing parts, service history is reviewed to avoid unnecessary duplication if items have been recently serviced or replaced. All included parts are covered in the upfront service scope.

Resetting the Maintenance System
After servicing is complete, the technician resets the machine’s internal maintenance counter. This clears the alert and restarts both the time and usage tracking, ensuring accurate scheduling for the next service interval.

Why Preventative Maintenance Matters
Routine servicing does more than keep your machine running—it protects your investment. Regular maintenance reduces the likelihood of unexpected failures, supports safe operation, and ensures hygiene standards are consistently met.
Additionally, all replacement parts fitted during preventative maintenance are backed by a 12-month warranty, providing added confidence and peace of mind.
