Issue: Industry specific requirements for coffee machines in a new office fit out.
“The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails”
As William Arthur Ward says, being a realist in the world of sailing is a prerequisite – there is no space on board for an optimist and a pessimist is not likely to leave the shore.
So learning to sail can appearing daunting to most, the range of sail boats, the equipment required, the unpredictability of the weather and the intricacies of navigation seem to insurmountable.
But if you find a trusted supplier and sailing school, suddenly everything starts making sense as you start to absorb the complexities of your new pastime.
And, just like Hireup, when they embarked on a new mission to find a coffee machine supplier in the ocean of providers to suit their specific requirements, they found that – like learning to sail upwind – they needed a trusted adviser.
When Hireup approached CoffeeTec we perceived that there was more than just some coffee machines required. Hireup is a company for people with disability to find, hire and manage support workers who fit their needs and share their interests.
But not only that they also employ persons with disability. So that all coffee machines had to be accessible for persons in wheelchairs and operatable by persons with vison disabilities.
This is not dissimilar to your first approach to a sailboat provider – they will want to find out as much as they can about your requirements and ideas before even discussing a boat. If you are thinking about a 14 foot sailing dinghy and the sales guy is trying to sell you a 25 million ocean going craft you definitely are not off to a good start.
So when we had listened to Hireup’s story we came up with an offering that we knew would more than meet their requirements. Based on their four major factors:
- Accessibility,
- Usability,
- Quality of coffee and
- Reliability.
Working with the fitout company the coffee and food service benches were designed with an uncluttered foot well area for wheelchair access and the Franke touch screens were set up with just four clear, large drink icons on the screen for easy drink selection.
And like selecting safety equipment for your sailing boat such as a windbreaker and boat shoes, the quality of coffee was an easy choice along with the renowned reliability of the Franke A400MS machines.
We then kept in touch by visiting the site to monitor the fitout progress and were able to make plumbing/electrical suggestions to streamline the installation and future maintenance.
Working with both Hireup and the fitout company, we then co-ordinated the installation with the fitout completion date, just two days before the relocation. Such was the initial programming of the machines there has been no need to recalibrate or change the settings.
With over 25,000 drinks made since installation the machines have exceeded expectations and proved that working together, building trust and understanding will bring a satisfying result for both client and supplier alike.
